FAQ: TULA's "Masks for Masks"
WHAT IS TULA'S “MASKS FOR MASKS” PROGRAM?
TULA’s “Masks for Masks” program is dedicated to getting more protective masks to NYC’s COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers. Now (3/31) through December (12/31/20), when you purchase a pack of TULA Star Bright Hydrogel Masks (at 50% off), 100% of proceeds will go to this cause.* In addition to Star Bright proceeds, TULA’s already donated funds to cover thousands of protective masks. In order to do this, TULA’s teamed with A Million Masks—an initiative started to acquire, distribute & deliver 1M medical masks to NYC's healthcare workers. Learn more here.
WHAT IS THE TULA STAR BRIGHT MASK?
It's a hydrogel mask powered by probiotics & superfoods to brighten, soothe & hydrate skin. Each order comes with four masks. You can read about & shop it here.
WHAT IS A MILLION MASKS?
A Million Masks is an initiative supported by NYC's startup community to get a million protective masks quickly to our medical community. Learn more here.
WILL 100% OF MY STAR BRIGHT PURCHASE BE DONATED?
Yes. 100% of proceeds will be donated to A Million Masks, which will use the funds to get more protective masks to NYC’s COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers.*
WHY THIS CAUSE?
There are a few reasons: (1) TULA was founded by Dr. Roshini Raj, a practicing physician—we want to protect our healthcare community who has been working tirelessly to care for us & are in dire need of personal protective equipment. (2) As you likely know, NYC’s been hit hard by COVID-19. We are a NYC-based company & share this beautiful city with many of our customers. Fighting the spread of COVID-19 here will also help protect our community beyond NYC. (3) A Million Masks was set up by our fellow startup community. It’s a focused & nimble initiative that allows us to make a meaningful impact ASAP.
WHAT HOSPITALS ARE YOU SUPPORTING?
While the initial focus was on two hospital systems & their ERs & ICUs, NYU Langone & NY Presbyterian, thanks to the support of partners like TULA & individual donations, A Million Masks has been able to get masks to the wider NYC medical community—University Hospital of Brooklyn, Kings County Hospital Center, Mount Sinai West, SUNY Downstate & BronxCare Hospital—plus hospitals in other states, with a focus on serving low-income areas.
WHAT HAPPENS IF 1M MASKS ARE SECURED?
If the goal is surpassed, A Million Masks will keep acquiring, distributing & delivering additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for frontline healthcare workers until every last penny is spent. PPE includes gloves, gowns/aprons, goggles or face shields, face masks & respirators.
WHY PURCHASE TULA'S STAR BRIGHT MASKS VS. DONATING DIRECTLY TO A MILLION MASKS?
TULA’s “Masks for Masks” program encourages our community to focus on self-care, while also incentivizing them to help protect NYC’s COVID-19 frontline healthcare workers. Through the program, you can get a pack of Star Bright hydrogel masks for yourself while also helping secure protective masks for the medical community. Win, win. 100% of Star Bight proceeds will be allocated to the A Million Masks fund.* If you do wish to donate directly to A Million Masks, we encourage that too! We share the same goal.
ARE OTHER TULA PRODUCTS VALID FOR "MASKS FOR MASKS"?
Only purchases of TULA’s Star Bright Hydrogel Mask are valid for our “Masks for Masks” program.
WHAT IS THE TULA ID.ME PROGRAM?
In addition to “Masks for Masks,” in response to COVID-19 TULA has also launched a separate program with ID.me to provide a 20% discount at checkout to all nurses, first responders, teachers, military, government workers & students through August. We hope this enables these groups more access to self-care during this unprecedented time. 💙
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR ID.ME?
