Our Story
“Working in medicine showed me that true wellness isn’t just about treating issues – it’s about supporting the body’s natural systems before problems start. Working as a practicing gastroenterologist, I’ve spent my career studying the microbiome from the inside out – how trillions of microorganisms work together to protect and regulate the body. What many people don’t realize is that the skin has its own microbiome ecosystem, and when that balance is disrupted, we see it in the form of dullness, sensitivity, breakouts, premature aging and more skin concerns.
Through my work in medicine, I saw an opportunity to apply true microbiome science to skincare. I founded TULA – sanskrit for ‘Balance’ – to bring that same science of inside-out wellness to the skin’s surface. TULA’s products are formulated with prebiotics to help nourish beneficial bacteria, balance the skin microbiome and support the skin barrier to promise lasting wellness so skin can reveal its healthiest glow.
